"The rain was so intense at times early this morning that residents reported hearing thunderous sounds, not knowing whether it was real thunder of the roar of mudslides."
This woke us up at about 5:30 AM when debris was flowing down the wash behind our house. We could not tell if it was thunder, a mudslide, an earthquake, or the entire friggin mountain coming down on us.
Everything that slid off the mountain up at the top of Ocean View and Briggs Terrace comes down the same path. There are a huge number of catches between the top and our house, but it still sounded like the end of the world coming.
You know those days where you suddenly start to worry about the past content of a blog? You never know who's going to be looking. New employer usually. But today I'm suddenly worried about something I may have said in the past that may offend a new family member. Finding my brothers (or more to the point, my brothers finding me) a couple years ago was a complete shock to the system. Today its happening all over again.
Somewhere sometime there was mention of a sister that we would probably never find... well never is actually a shorter time than you think.
