I was going to write an entry the day it happened, but i just didn't know what the hell to say. A couple days later i found
John Lindquist's blog entry about the same event. After reading it I really couldn't find the words that would make John's description any better. So, i was laid off on the 19th, two days after the launch of the adamo website. I felt a little pissed about everything right after it happened, but I'm over it. Moving on.
I've been working my ass off on a couple projects in the last week that I'm really proud of. I have not touched papervision for 6 months really, and I dove right back in with the first project. So as soon as I CAN talk about it, i'll post links.

I had a couple minutes yesterday to run to radio shack yesterday. I only went in to buy a couple breadboards, but I can't seem to resist the urge to buy weird shit when I'm there. So i walked out with an ultrasonic range finder. About 10 minutes after getting home i had it wired and working. I actually can't believe how simple the thing is.

Will came over for dinner on Wed night and we headed out to Los Gringos in La Canada. Had a great dinner as per usual. When we came out, there were the 4 news choppers hovering overhead. At the time we had no clue what had happened, but we took back streets to get back home. I didn't find out about the accident on Angeles Crest until the next day from Ricardo. Its just scary cause we'll sit at that intersection all the time. We go to Hill Street Cafe (next door to the accident) all the time, and when you walk inside you notice the reinforced barrier that they've got built outside their front door.
AP had a caption on a photo that said a truck driver lost control at an intersection. Well lets just say they kinda missed the detail of the issue.
Just to make it a little more clear... Angeles crest highway comes out of the mountain pass and turns directly south into La Canada. The last mile of the highway is a steady grade downhill until the intersection at Foothill. At this point the highway ENDS. The Foothill intersection is a T intersection and you've got close to no chance to make the turn. The guy who caused this accident was dumb enough to think he could make the turn left (Foothill doesn't exactly hit the highway at a 90 degree angle, you have the benefit of about 30 more degrees if you turn left). Now the real fucked up part is this guy should have been testing is brakes like any trained truck driver. If he had noticed his brakes where out a mile earlier, he could have used any one of the gravel pits along the center divider of the highway.

So i read about amazon removing gay and lesbian books and rating them as "adult content". So now it seems the entire thing was just done for the lulz.
