DIAL UP SUCKS!!! I gotta now wait til Wed to get my cable connection. Its like living in slow motion.

Saturday August 2nd 2003 10:19 AM PST
So i finally i woke up. I didn't get home til about 2:30 last night. I really needed to get out and Jen and I decided it was time to make an apperance at Finn's. It was great to see Brian and Wendy, and Heaather even showed up. Jon had a little purchase from Sony for me. I needed a camera for Hawaii so Jon bought a camera through Sony for me. So we hung out at Finn's til closing and i was snapping pictures with my new camera, annoying everybody as usual. Jen got hungry so Brian and Wendy suggested "Holy Guacamole" down the street. Its a little hole in-the-wall taco stand that is the only place open around 1:30 or 2. Well we were not the only people with this idea. Like i said, its the ONLY place open. Well the food was great and it was exactly what Jen needed. As soon as we got home i fell asleep faster than i think i ever have before. anyway, pictures from the camera look like crap. Well what do you expect from a drunk guy using a camera he doesn't know how to control. I'll post some later. (not now on dial up)

Saturday August 2nd 2003 09:06 PM PST
I can't tell if we've pissed Tony off or if he's just a fucking dumbass. His bathroom window is directly outside our bedroom window. The building turns a corner there, so if you look out our window, its RIGHT THERE. So his windows open on the window cranks where the window swings out and away from the building, so when they're open the glass sits at about a 45 degree angle to the building. So i don't wanna get too involved in physics, but lets say you leave a radio blasting in the bathroom. The sound would move in waves out the window and the glass would act as a reflector, sending the sound in a right angle (provided that we assume the 45 degree open window theory). That would then direct the sound at an angle perpendicular to our bedroom window. Ok, so what am i trying to say? Tony's got some fuckin AM station on playing music that can only be described as halfway between salsa and cuban dance music. Its blasting so fuckin loud that it sounds like its INSIDE our fuckin bedroom. So i said to Jen earlier today that i was really starting to like the new place now that we had gotten our stuff moved in. Well i take it all back. Its 9 PM now and has already been on for well over an hour. I think honestly that he left a clock radio in the bathroom and he left. Its unknown if this in on purpose, but it seems far too calculated to be otherwise. We'll see when it gets turned off.

Monday August 4th 2003 08:05 PM PST
I just about at the end of my rope. I've got 6 days before i leave on vacation and i've got more work to do than you can possibly imagine. So i am about 1 step away from a fuckin breakdown. I just don't think i am going to make it. I have one more day on dial up and then maybe i will feel less fuckin helpless. I have to drive to my parents house every time i need to get a large email or send anything out. Its a damn joke.

I need a change. I need to just be a fucking code monkey again. Stupid fuckin 9 to 5 job and nothing else. Can somebody out there turn me into a drone? I really want it. I need the money and I don't care about being happy. I'm not happy now, so what's the fuckin difference.

The sad thing is that i am no longer looking forward to hawaii. I am almost dreading it. I know i am not going to have as much fun as i could cause i have things hanging over my head. I've got a huge deadline to deal with when i get back and i am behind schedule as always.

I drank way too much last night to try to get away from all this shit. I spend the evening at the beach with Jon and a bunch of other people. Jen and I stayed way too long, but had a great time. I am in the state of mind now where i don't think about how much fun i had.... i think about all the shit i didn't get done.

Fuck it

6 days and counting.

Knowing my luck, i'll get everything done, and then get hit by a fuckin car.

Tuesday August 5th 2003 11:25 AM PST
So what do you do when you're feeling like shit and just want to die?

Stay up all fuckin night long and take care of all your problems.

I jammed through a whole 3 days of work in one night. I figured it was time to stop being a little bitch and shut my mouth and get the shit done. SO .... i got a whole lot done on one project and i called another client today and talked em down. They were expecting a project to be complete by the end of the week when they have not gotten me any assets and we don't have to go to master til October. So now instead of having artwork and animation for 5 different scenes to do, i've only got to get 2 done. And they really only have to be examples, so i'm relaxed. As far as the other project... ( sorry scott, gotta vent ) i blew most of the day yesterday trying to cut loops from 6 songs that are all the most painful to my own ears. Its all rap and hip hop for a movie. At the end of the day we decided to use another method, so the work that i had done was all trash. Oh well. That's why i stayed up all last night. I needed to feel like i did get something done. So now i feel a lot better.

I am looking forward to Hawaii again. I just need to find some time this week to go shopping for new clothes. I own one pair of swim trunks and i can't remember the last time i tried to put them on. I am going to bet that the fat ass i have become will not fit.

in lesser news.... i finally got the time to connect my speakers, and i got around to hanging the computer lab "open" sign. The new place is starting to feel like home. Its gonna take a little longer to be able to find all the light switches in the dark, but i'm working on it.

Wednesday August 6th 2003 02:39 PM PST
I'm back up and running with a high speed connection. i gotta start running tests to see what my upstream speeds are. I think this might be a little better than DSL, but i'm still skeptical. anyway.... back to work.

Wednesday August 6th 2003 09:34 PM PST
I'm torn. I don't know who to vote for anymore. Do i vote for Arnold or Gary Coleman?

What the fuck is wrong with this state?

Thursday August 7th 2003 01:15 AM PST
Have you ever been working, just blasting through something, only to hit a completely invisible blockade? It happened to me today, and i never saw it coming. I'm workin on a little mixing board in shockwave and everything was actually going good. I had all my loops cut and all me beats laid down. Now it was just a matter of dropping the whole mess into director and assign each sound a different sound channel. Easy right? Well what i didn't count on was director having a undocumented upper sound channel limit. You can only have 8 puppetsounds running at the same time. Well i'm sorry, i need at least 12 and then another 2 for sound effects. WTF. So i dive into documentation. I search and search and search, and find NOTHING. Well then i get an idea. I could drop all my audio into flash and then import the flash into director, that way i can bypass the puppetsound channel limit. Great idea. I spend the better part of 3 hours converting all the audio and making a really cool way that i can trigger sounds WHILE still keeping all the sounds in sync so that i can mix back and forth at random. I drop all this mess into director and find that only 8 of my sounds work. Hmmm is this limits extended to flash as well? Is it a function of macromix.x32? Well i wish somebody out there would write something on it, cause i'm fuckin lost. So i dig back into documentation. So now i am getting pissed. I need to sync sounds and crossfade between them without loosing any sync. So i ditch the flash and start to really look at manual sync. It 1AM and i think i finally have the solution. I've gotta dump all audio that is not being heard and sync everything else on the fly. Its a real bitch cause the time it takes a puppetsound command to execute the sound is already out of sync. So i gotta constantly check all the sounds.

I don't know if any of this is making sense.

Anyway, i think i need some sleep before i am going to be of any use. I'm stumbling around my apartment, and i don't even remember my wife going to sleep. I am in a fuckin daze, and i've got a different client coming over tomorrow to look at something i don't have done. (yet)

Thursday August 7th 2003 01:32 PM PST
i stayed up all night working on one project. When i finally went to sleep i figured i'd get up at 6 and work on the other project. Well i slept til 8. I got up and jumped into action. I was expecting the client at my house at noon. Well at 11:45 i was close to done, but still had another 30 minutes of work. He calls at that point and tells me he's not going to make it, but he wants to run to lunch and then review the stuff online. SCORE!!! So he gives me a little more time. He just checked out the animation i did and he's happy with it. So happy that he thinks that this is really all we should show to the real client at this point. All i have to do is a little clean up and I'm DONE!!!! Only one project left, and if all goes well it (the mixing board) will be done by tonight.

Friday August 8th 2003 09:14 AM PST
I cant remember what the rest of the week was really like. Its went so damn fast its all a blur. I remember on Monday thinking.... "If i just make it to Friday it won't matter". Well its Friday, and I still have a shitload to do. And what always seems to happen when you start to see the light at the end of the tunnel? You get MORE work that you didn't expect to see coming. Epic Sports is re-merchandising their store and they figured now is as good a time as any to try to FINALLY put their website live. Well it looks like any free time i had is now going to be spent at the store photographing product.

I did get time last night to hang out with Will for the first time in awhile. We got dinner over at Hamburger Hamlet and just hung out catching up on conversation.

Well back to work.

Monday August 11th 2003 01:10 AM PST
All finished packing... and i think i'm ready. I didn't win the lottery this week though, so that was a little of a let down. I was kinda counting on the 90+ million. Anyway, a little plane flight over the Pacific and i'll be on a beach drinking Lava Flows. MMMMMMM. I've got the portable, so i'll be attempting to blog from Hawaii. In other news: Will me and Jen finished off the restaurant circuit tonight with Dominco's. Jen and I realized that we couldn't go to Outback tonight, cause its very likely that we'll eat at the Outback in Nipilli in a few days.

Finally i gotta say so far that i am a little pissed with the cable service i have from Time Warner Cablevision. For no reason whatsoever today the cable went out. I called them later tonight and they just responded with, "Um, well we should send somebody out to look at that maybe." So i hope that this doesn't just go out like this all the time. If it does, there's a DSL connection in my future. Right now i'm back on AOL and the shit dial up.

Ok, i gotta get some sleep. I'll be up at 5AM to get out of the house in time for an early flight. Next entry willl be on Hawaii Time.

Tuesday August 12th 2003 01:41 AM PST
Holy shit, talk about a bad day! We rushed so damn fast out of the bermingham house today that we forgot a bag. Well it wouldn't be so bad, but it had Jen's Mothers injections in it. The securtiy at LAX blows and the post 911 checkin is so damn slow. Well at least we're safe.

The last 5 minutes of the flight are the best. You start to get really close to the ground and the wind really starts to kick up and push the plane around. Great time for "hang time". So we got off the plane, got our bags, got a minivan, and drove across the island. After a little stop at the local pharmacy we headed out to lunch at Kapalua's pool. Damn, all i can say is that the Lava Flows they make in CA are SHIT. The only place you ever should order a lava flow is in hawaii. So we're all ready to relax.

Jen and I took a walk around today. We walked down to the beach and around the golf villas. We just got back from dinner at the plantation. We're all dead tired cause we're on LA time. anyway... off to bed.

Tuesday August 12th 2003 11:28 AM PST
it was raining hard at about 6:30 AM today. It just cleared off and a rainbow popped up right in front of our patio. We're off to breakfast and then off to the beach. I wanna drive out to Iao today cause i know with the heavy rain, all the waterfalls will be HUGE. anyway pictures tonight.

Tuesday August 12th 2003 09:46 PM PST
so right before we left Jen and I were working on invitations for Anne's Shower. It was a lot of Fun, and brought us back to making stuff for our own wedding. The great fights over if the color is right and if the typeface is EXACTLY what Jen wants. After a few tears and a lot of muscle we got em done, and they do look good. Now its gonna be a lot of fun having a Hawaii post mark on them.

ok so back to vacation.

We did a lot of nothing today.

beach, drink, eat, pool, more drink, and soon, more eat.

Friday August 15th 2003 01:38 AM PST
We got our own rental car today, so we took off to drive around the island. We headed north from Kapalua and drove around the north part of the island. There used to be a sign at the end of the state highway saying that rental cars are not permitted, but Jen and I didn't see the sign this time. The road has gotten a little better, but there are still a few points where you are hanging over a 100 foot cliff with no guard rail. And on top of it all you're passing other cars on a road that is no more than 6 feet wide. It made Jen a little nervous, but the view was well worth the drive. We headed to the Iao needle after we got around the north road. The Iao valley is in the center of the north end of the island, and i think is one of the most beautiful spots on Maui. The sides of the valley tower hundreds of feet over your head and the clouds are dropping rain all above you to create some of the most beautiful waterfalls. Its really depressing, cause after we drove all day on the one side of the island, we headed back to the "busy" side and were just in time to get stuck in traffic. Well i guess its just what happens. Jen and i headed to the beach at the end of the day, and it was very worth it. By the time we got there, everybody had already left, so we were alone on the beach. Instead of the normal 200 people there were only about 15. It was great in the water too, cause there were not all the damn kids screaming and splashing around. We took it easy after the beach and went to dinner at Sansei for some sushi. I'm stuffed now and need to get to sleep. I think tomorrow we're gonna head down to Mekenna and see if we can find some sea turtles.

Sunday August 17th 2003 11:04 AM PST
ok, more fish...

Jen and i went to Lahaina, which is the Hawaiian equivalent of Hollywood. Front street in Lahaina is exactly like hollywood blvd. Its filled with tourists and a lot of shops that have nothing but knick knacks. But it did have some goood photo ops. I personally think Spock looks good in a Bob Marley shirt.

And have you ever seen a VW Rabbit chopped up to be used as a pickup. The bamboo roll cage on the back just does the trick.

Tuesday August 19th 2003 01:17 AM PST
So we've been running around the island having a great time. The other day we drove down to the south end of the island to check out a few of the beaches and have lunch. We parked south of the Grand Wahalea and walked into the hotel pool area via the beach. This place is actually just a Vegas hotel that has been transplanted to Hawaii. Its a fuckin circus in the pool area and the hotel is 15 stories high. BUT there is good food there. So we had lunch and then headed to the part of the road that starts to get a little rough. We were looking for big beach and little beach, which i had read are the little secrets of Maui. Well the secret is out. There were about 300 cars parked in the two lots for big beach and we had quite a hike to the sand. We walked along big beach and then headed over the point to little beach, which does have a little secret itself. Its the only agreed upon nude beach on Maui. Even though its illegal, its just not patrolled. So we took a walk down little beach and promptly left. There were just too many damn ugly people without clothes on. We headed down to look at the lava flows and then drove back.

We've eaten at about every place we can, and we're at the point in the trip where we'll have to repeat a few. Jen and I headed to Sansai for dinner a second time, just cause the sushi puts anything in los angeles to shame. The wait was an hour, but we managed to get a seat at the bar within 2 minutes of walking in the door.

Today we got up early and went to Honalua bay just north of Kapalua. This is by far the best location for diving i have seen yet on the island. Its in a natural preserve and the fish are in HUGE numbers there. We just sat by the pool today after that and took it easy. We're heading back to Honalua bay in the morning again. Its the best way to do it. We were the first people there and when we got out there were no less than 20 cars parked on the highway and far more people in the water. We're planning on being in the water by about 7AM, so that should guarantee us at least a half hour before anybody else shows up.

I took about 400 pictures over the last 2 days, but i am just too damn lazy to process any of them right now. This stupid g3 portable is about the slowest thing i could possibly have with me. So i'll do a huge post again when i get the time.

BTW if anybody saw the season finale of the Dead Zone (and knows about next season), is Frank Whaley's character going to be in the next season, or was that just a one shot thing. Just cause i thought the entire concept of a future character talking to John Smith was fucking great. The gotta keep him in next season.

well off to bed.

Wednesday August 20th 2003 01:37 AM PST
RULE #1:

do not mix the word BOAT or SHIP with my wife.

We broke rule number 1 tonight and it was not fun. We headed out to a dinner cruise and it was honestly worse than getting stuck on "small world" at disneyland. (which happens to be the reigning champion of "hell" scenarios in my mind). The packed us in like cattle first onto a shuttle boat. Then the shuttle took us to the dinner boat. Well the shuttle boat was only 10 feet shorter than the dinner boat. We all thought we were getting on something a LOT LARGER. So they feed us drinks and push us to the top deck where we broil in the sun. Bad news for us cause we thought we would be inside in an air conditioned dining room. So... Jen is burning as we can't believe how little space there is to move on the top deck. Jen and I are put at a table with a mother who has been put there cause her husband and 3 kids are taking the table across the walkway, She can't sit with them, so she's stuck with us. Ok bad salad, and then we bail down to the lower deck to get in the shade. This fuckin boat advertises a "gyroscopically stabilized" ride. MY ASS. Jens fuckin green. I finish off a few more drinks. Jen's father checks in on us (for the fuckin 500th time) and tells us our dinner is upstairs waiting for us at our table. (sorry, like we fuckin care) So we head upstairs to look like we're eating. Lets just say the prime rib that i had was about 2 bits of meat and a half pound of fat. So then we just cruise. We wanna get off the fuckin boat, but thats not for another hour. So we sit, and sit and sit. And then when we think it was bad enough... the boat just stops. If a boat is moving, usually its a little more stable. But this dumbass captain just sits and waits outside the harbor. And all we do it bob up and down in the swells. Real nice asshole. Jen is MORE green. So then you figure we're gonna pull into the harbor and they'll let us off. NOPE. that would be too nice. The pull the shuttle boat back up and run the cattle call again. So this time we sit on the shuttle boat waiting for everbody to move from one boat to the other (almost 300 people) and the wind does nothing but blow diesel fumes from both engines into the cabin and on the bow where we are sitting. Most people have their shirts over their faces. So Jen's father blew $500 on a dinner that none of us liked. We're all a little pissed cause we had the best dinner a few nights ago at the Bay Club and it was right around $500 even with a great bottle of wine and all the extras.

Fuck it, you just don't win every time.

We did Honalua bay again at 7AM today and we're gonna do it again tomorrow. I have to say that the only thing that went right was today we saw a sea turtle.

Wednesday August 20th 2003 12:42 PM PST
So just to make this one clear. We went on the Maui Princess last night and it SUCKED. If anybody is on Maui any time soon, just avoid this boat at all cost. If you are going to go on a dinner cruise make sure that you're on a larger boat. This thing is designed for whale watching, not dinning.

Saturday August 23rd 2003 02:01 AM PST
Yesterday we got up at the crack of dawn and got on the road. We got across the island early in the morning and got onto the Hana Highway at about 8AM. This is honestly my favorite drive ever. 55 miles of narrow winding road. On top of it all its completely on a cliff in a rain forest overlooking the ocean. So we stop all the time on way there and take all the pictures and visit all the waterfalls. We get to Hana and have breakfast at the Hotel Hana Maui. We finish breakfast and get back on the road. Will and Jen had a little chat a couple weeks ago about a beach that is in Hana. So we set out to find it. And well... it was right under our fuckin noses the first time we were there, but we never went there. So this time we walked down and took a few pictures and were a little pissed that when we were there two years ago we didn't spend any time there.

we headed to the 7 pools and made the hike to the top waterfall. The bamboo forest at the top is unbelieveable and when you get through there is a 300 foot waterfall over your head. It took us about an hour to hike up the trail and about the same back down. At the bottom (where every fuckin tourist HAS to go) are the pools that you can swim in. The second pool has a great jump from on top of a waterfall. The climb up is more scary than the jump, but i did make it up the cliff face and jumped. While i was climbing, there was another guy who jumped from the bridge which is two pools above. He made the bridge jump the upper pool jumps and then followed me off the jump that i had just made. We sat and swam for awhile and when we were leaving, he was back up on the bridge. We went back to the car and took awhile to change and dry off, and then left. When we crossed the bridge on the way out HE was back up on the bridge ready to jump. I rolled down the window and asked him how many times he had been around and he holds up one hand and says "5". Jen and i are laughing our asses off and Jen asks him how do you know where to jump from. He is sitting on the edge of the bridge and stands up to reveal a X carved into the concrete. He points to it and just says thats the mark.

The drive back kinda sucked because we got behind people that drove 15mph and didn't pull into turn outs. We got to Mama's Fish house and found out that it was booked all night and the wait for the Bar alone was an hour and a half. So we got on the phone and made a reservation at Roy's on the other side of the island and kept driving.

Roy's actually was not as great as we had been told. It was more like Wolfgang Pucks but even more pricy.

Today we did a whole lot of nothing with a little sitting by the pool. We had dinner at the Kapalua hotel's buffet and walked back to the condo. I think i am actually going to try to get Jen up early again tomorrow to go swim at Honalua Bay. We'll see in the morning how we feel.

Saturday August 23rd 2003 02:15 AM PST

Saturday August 23rd 2003 02:20 AM PST

Sunday August 24th 2003 10:36 AM PST
it was raining a little today at 6:30AM so we didn't end up going to Honalua Bay for a last round of "swim with the fish", but we are heading out to breakfast at the plantation, so thats always good.

Yesterday we did get up early and go swimming, and we saw the same sea turtle we had a few days ago. This time he didn't want anything to do with us. He just sat there on the bottom and dug himself in. I don't blame him, there were 6 canoes full of screaming kids that showed up and they must be the most annoying thing to a sea turtle.

We fly back tomorrow... suck.

BUT i do get to see Jason... RAWK ON!

Tuesday August 26th 2003 12:03 AM PST
home at last.

flying sucks. and flying into LAX sucks even more.

I'm a little pissed that the vacation is over, but i've got too many things to deal with now to waste any time complaining. Back to the grind.

I shot over 2000 pictures and am now transferring the 3.9GB of photos from my portable to my workstation. When i get some time i'll start posting more. As for right now... cable is still out. A tech from time warner is coming tomorrow at 8AM. still using AOL, but i am used to it after 2 weeks on the road. I need to get back into the work mode. So i'll call everybody that needs calling tomorrow in the morning.

Tuesday August 26th 2003 11:22 AM PST
I got the cable back today at around 8AM and i'm finally back online.

Yesterday's plane flight was the best i have ever been on. It was clear all the way, not a single bump, and a good landing. AND there were about 50 screaming kids on the fuckin plane. This was a little hard to deal with, but in the long run it was more fun that i could possibly imagine.

Jen's mother grabbed a wheelchair in the airport, so we were the first to board the plane. Jen me and her brother were back in coach and were all settled by the time the masses started to get onboard. Now if you have ever watched a family of 6 try to pick seats on an airplane, AND when their seats are split all over two aisles... this is PURE entertainment. The two boys are fighting over the seat closest to the window. the sister doesn't want to sit near them. the dad just wants to sit next to his wife. the toddler is smiling at me. i'm laughing. The boys start pushing each other the sister boots her father from the other aisle seat. now he's stuck in the middle seat and not next to his wife. The wife is just standing there with the toddler over her shoulder. the toddler is still smiling. The boys switch seats a few more times while hitting each other. everybody is seated. PAUSE. they forgot to get all their shit out of the bags they just put in the overhead bins. back up. i'm still laughing. The toddler is asleep already.

So during the flight most of the parents that have crying kids do nothing but laps. The walk up one aisle with the kid in their arms, and then down the other. one lady must have gone around the plane at least 20 times. The kid would be great while they were being walked around. Not a peep out of them. As soon as the mother would sit down, the baby would scream its ass off.

I watch the mother with the toddler pull out a portable DVD player. She's got the idea. Give the kids something to watch on the plane. FUCK, that's what i would want. Its gotta be the best way to make the kid happy. So she pops the player down in front of the kid and i am expecting disney SHIT. Or maybe some dreamworks animation or something. I GOT SO PISSED! This kid sat for 5 hours and watched Futurama!!!!! That would have been the best way to deal with a plane flight!!! Well maybe a couple hours of Futurama and then a few of the Simpsons. I was so jealous.

When we finally got on the ground we were about 20 minutes early, but you'd think that would mean we would get home early. nope. don't take super shuttle. They suck. We sat for 45 minutes waiting for them to get a van to us. Jen's father had prepaid, so i think they figured they were not going to lose our business. So we finally got a driver and got on the road. This guy could not keep inside the lanes on the freeway. I honestly have not seen somebody drive this bad since i was in a cab in London.

So now i have deadlines again and gotta get on the move.

Tuesday August 26th 2003 11:41 AM PST
Big Beach

The Sea turtle we saw in Kapalua Harbor

Wednesday August 27th 2003 12:40 AM PST
i know this is going to make a few people unhappy, but today i really could not get back into the work mode. i tried, but all i found myself doing was fucking around. i now look back on the day and realize that i did nothing at all. i didn't even clip my toenails. That at least would have been an accomplishment. I got stuck doing little bullshit things that didnt get me any closer to completing my projects. Well its late now and i have to make up for all the nothing i did all day. looks like no sleep for me tonight.

Wednesday August 27th 2003 01:45 AM PST
ok, if you don't watch any other event in the Xgames, you have to watch the skateboard "best trick" event. I'm sure ESPN will be showing this one over and over and over this week. Its just a HUGE halfpipe in the middle of Stapes Center with a bunch of the best skateboarders trying to throw unfuckinbelieveable tricks. At one point Tony Hawk threw a 540 varial heelflip, and i thought that was going to be his big trick. with about 7 minutes to go the other riders start to throw the 900. Tony had said before the event that he would most likely NOT try to throw the 900. For the last 5 minutes all you watch is guys bailing on huge tricks and trying and trying to get the 900. Then Tony trys. He bails on a 900 attempt, but the crowd is so dumbfounded that he threw for it that they just go crazy. So at this point you know he's gotta pull it. With 14 seconds left in the competition he nails the 900 and wins the event. All i can say is "GAWD DAMN"!!

Wednesday August 27th 2003 05:10 PM PST
I really am in shock today. I had a lunch meeting with a client, and everything went better than i expected. The deadline has been extended, the scope of work has been reduced, and they are still going to pay me the same amount. I don't know if its a miracle. i don't know if i woke up in an alternate reality today. The only thing i have to do is help them out doing a little more work on their web site to make up for the extra money. Thats no problem with me. Hmmm maybe just sometimes i CAN have a good day. On another project i am racing through the work and am almost complete. Maybe i'm just rested. Well i don't feel rested. I feel like any other day. Well this one was good. Just a little more work and i'll make a few more people happy when they see a completed shockwave module.

Am i the only one who can't stand to listen to Jerry Falwell? I am in the middle of flipping channels and end up on the news. He's speaking about the 10 commandments monument that has just been removed from a courthouse. For a moment I honestly want to hear what he has to say. But then i remember he's Falwell. He's an icon of religion in this country, so he has a reputation to uphold. He's never going to deviate from the opinion he already holds. So i listen for about 45 seconds and then can't take any more. He says that this is a nation under God and that any student of history can tell you that this is has always been a Christian nation. He argues that over the last 40 years there has been a fight to remove GOD and Christianity from Government in this country. I don't really know what he says after this cause I'm already rolling my eyes and extending my finger to the TV's power button.

This nation has always been very close to religion. All nations and all cultures have their beliefs and rituals. Its part of being HUMAN. BUT we had some very intelligent people leading the way for this country. We don't need the history lesson, we know why they did what they did. They wanted to see a government that did not impose religious belief onto its own people.

They knew exactly what they DIDN'T want. They did not want a king or a queen They didn't want that one person telling them what to do and what to believe. So what do you get? A separation of church and state and a government that divided the power.

Ok is this rant long enough now?

i should have listened to Will...

Just don't watch TV.

Ok, this is just too damn funny. As i was trawling A.B.P.E.gothic this morning i came across a very funny picture. This one is of Rose McGowan in a parking lot with a bunch of Xmas lights. The funny part, is the dress that she is wearing bears the Butterfly Logo of Kapalua. Its just damn funny cause Jen and I just spent the last two weeks there. You can see the same logo on the "80's visor" i'm wearing in the last months picts.

I guess i need to make the obligatory MTV VMA entry. Let's see.... where to start. After Madonna and Britney kissed it kinda went all downhill. When the show finally hit rock bottom, Metallica came out and showed their true colors as just another shitty cover band.

The funny part about MTV is we grew up with it. People who are a little older than me don't understand MTV and they never will. They just look at the bands and say "oh christ, please save my soul". I was a little disappointed. Actually i was really disappointed. I guess i should have never expected anything other than the shit that they pulled. MTV is supposed to be controversial. They're supposed to stir the shit up. All they did all night was pat themselves on the back for how good they've been doing. Reality TV this... and record sales that... Punk'd this.... Osbournes that. Older people think that MTV is actually getting more out of control. They just think because the music is louder that MTV is actually contributing to the moral decay of the world. NEWS FLASH GUYS! MTV is not contributing to the moral decay of the world. They're running a business and making a shitload of money. IF THEY WERE contributing to the moral decay of the world at least that would be something. Then maybe i would be happy.

Oh i forgot to say...

Go back to playing tennis Lars.

Sleep is really overrated. I got so much done last night its not even funny. For a moment i was tempted to catch a few hours around 5AM today, but i just kept on going. The project i'm working on is due today and i'm just putting the final touches on it. I still got 2 hours at least before anybody at the client's office shows up. Everything is falling into place. All i have to do is make it through today and any changes that they throw at me. Then sleep.

I still have to get up early tomorrow and help set up the PA System for Epic's end of summer event at Paseo. They're setting up the half pipe at about 7AM and the PA arrives at 9. I'll be playing non stop punk for the Hurley Skaters while they ride the halfpipe. There are a few bands that are showing up to play. Mostly guys who work at the store who have little garage bands. Should be a good time. But it's always a fuckin zoo. I'll be sure to take a dumpload of pictures.
