So what did i do? Well i ordered two more! So now i have 4 units in the house and it allows me to have ethernet drops anywhere i have an outlet. I put the cable modem and router in my bedroom behind a dresser, and then linked them to the first Netgear unit plugged into the wall socket. From that outlet to the garage i've sustained about 45Mbs with no problem. Its really nice now cause i've got another unit for Jen's portable in the kitchen, and then the final unit for my axis webcam. So that means i can move the camera anywhere in the house i'd like, and i'll be able to update the webcam image remotely any time i like.
So all in all the bandwidth is not the full 85Mbs that Netgear boasts, but WHO CARES! Its faster that WiFi and with the encryption i'll make bets that its more secure.

Well damn, I was saying the other day that i didn't need to get a new computer for awhile... i might just have to sell off a couple pieces of old hardware to get this nice piece of machinery.
They has a great time and told us about all the fun. Sounds like they got REALLY close to a lot of animals. Even a couple that had just taken down large kills.
So now without a camera i'm trying to decide if i just replace the old one with an upgrade, or just another exact model. hmmmm.
Then sunday we headed to the beach for a little lobster dinner. It was Dick and Martha's wedding anniversary, and they invited EVERYBODY down to the beach. We hung out and relaxed on the beach for a couple hours and then had a great dinner (the lobsters only suffered a little).
The surf sunday was big. We had a good view of uppers, and the guys riding were in barrels that were a couple feet over their heads. We figured about 8 to 10 with big sets of maybe 12 coming every once in awhile.
When i went in swimming it was a real workout. You really had to plan your exit out of the water so that a set wasn't coming down on top of you when you were trying to walk out.
Bill and Brad played frisbee in the waves, which ended up being a contest of "i dare you". The throws were timed to put the catcher in the worst possible position, usually right under a crashing shore breaker.
and i only got slightly burned.
Saturday was work work work. I had a little project i needed to get done, so i worked my ass off all day long. Then that night as i was walking out to grab something to eat I got a call. It seems that there was a new set of artwork that needed to be dropped in. Well, i had been working all day integrating the artwork i had been given. Well, it looks like i gotta do it all again. Eat, then dig into the new artwork.
Sunday i hit the road and headed down to San Clemente. Jen was already there and had been since Saturday. She went down for Kim's baby shower, and then spent the night at Annie's house. I didn't hit ANY traffic and made it down to Dana Point in just about an hour. Jen and I decided to meet in the harbor, which ended up being a bad idea. There was an art festival going on, and the parking lot was jammed. I called here and told her I'd meet her at the Strand about a mile away. Ok, that was just as bad of an idea. It was depressing. The strand is now a HOLE in the ground. They've graded the land down to beach level, and they've pushed the property line out as far to the high water mark as they legally can. What used to be a wide beach has now been reduced to a tiny little strip. We walked on the beach with our mouths open wide. It was sick.
We headed to Ruby's for food, and then back down to San Clemente to hang out at the beach house. At this point i had the Pulp Fiction moment. I'm on PCH, and people start walking across the road in a crosswalk. I come to a quick stop to let them go, and i can hear one of them say "fine hit me, i'll get more money". At that moment i think, "hold on, wtf?" and Jen says "isn't that Justin?" Sure enough its her cousin walking across the street with his girlfriend and another one of their friends. I yell out the window, "Justin, get out of the fuckin street!" and he turns around ,"Hey, pointing and laughing" (we laughed about it today)
We got down to the beach house and went to the market to pick up a few things. Bob, Valerie and David showed up and we relaxed before heading out to dinner.
Monday was spent on the beach most of the day. We eventually headed out to Cannons for drinks and then Ti Amo for dinner. After a few bottles of wine, Jen had to drive everybody home. We had a great time.
Tuesday we went to the "beach house" in laguna for breakfast and then i hit the road to head home. I worked my ass of the rest of the day and then crashed hard.
Nothing
So i check my mail. Well there's the confirmation, but no shipping confirmation, and nothing else. So i finally go to their website last night late and login. All i get is... This account has been suspended. Please contact Customer Support.
Ok? When did this happen? Were they going to notify me there was a problem? How long was my order going to sit in limbo?
So all i ever heard about Newegg was their great customer support. HAH well you think that they might send me an email telling me there was a problem. Now i gotta deal with their stelar customer support a week after i ordered the camera in the first place. Chances are i'm just gonna cancel the order and get it through amazon.
The kid is only a couple days old and he's already got a blog
So what better to do with a sick saturday than pull apart a inkjet printer. I've long known the the epson c82 that i own has a clog. I've read articles online about how bad the ink cleaning mechanism is built, and that the hose that pulls the ink away from the print head clogs regularly if you don't use the printer for a extended amount of time. So if you're like me, the laserprinter does all the regular work and the inkjet only prints color occasionally. I ran out and spent $150 on ink last time i counldn't get it to work, and no matter how much i cleaned the print heads, the prints never got any better. THEN i found the clogged hose issue, but i never got around to fixing it. So i pull out my philips head and pull the thing apart. Don't kid yourself, it was a pain in the ass to get the thing into pieces. When I finally was holding the ink assembly i almost gave up. I really didn't like the look of all the gears that i was going to have to REassemble after pulling this one fuckin hose out. But i went ahead and pulled it off. At one point i had the ink assembly fall apart in my hands. A couple of gears fell loose and then everything fell apart as i tried to grab em as they were falling. After a few minutes on my knees looking for a cog about the size of a dime i got the thing back together.
With the hose clean i ran one head clean cycle, and the printer made a prefect print. I actually was really happy that i actually fixed the thing. Now I have to research a way to actually refill the ink on the printer without spending $150. Then i'll really be happy.
Jen and I really sat around the rest of the day Saturday and the entire day Sunday. We finally got out of the house to walk around the Huntington for about an hour. We checked out the Chinese gardens that are still under construction. Its been so long that they've been working on them it seems they've opened up a large portion of the garden to drum up a little interest, and probably a little more funding from members. I have to say that its really beautiful. The stonework alone on the bridges and waterways is remarkable. Its gonna take a few more years to complete i'm sure, but its going to be beautiful.
the only thing i really accomplished today was getting started on a painting. I finally sketched out the rough on the canvas and i've got all the paints ready to go. I think its gonna take me a couple months to finish this one, but i think its a better approach than my one sitting paintings (that usually turn out like shit anyway) I'll start to post progress on it when i get a camera.

No good camera means all you're gonna get is a crappy isight image. Why is it always that i paint when i'm having a shitty day?
