I didn't have as many boxes as Jason did. and I didn't have to carry them up three flights of stairs, but I did a little moving on Friday. I have left Faction Creative as a full time employee and now am going to try things on my own again. As a little going away present i was left with a good booty of hardware from my office there. I think i threw my back out carrying the 21 inch monitor.

Ok, so my friends are really pissed at me cause I blew them off last night when they all saw spiderman at the new cinerama dome. But i did see it tonight. And I have to say, i went to the WORST theatre in all of Southern California. The PACIFIC HASTINGS RANCH may have a BIG SCREEN, but the management is a bunch of fuckin morons. They let people start moving into the theatre at 10:05 for a 10:15 show. Not a big deal when you run a theatre in a minimall that seats 15 people. BUT THIS PLACE HAS TO SEAT CLOSE TO 1000. Sure, 1000 people can find seats in 10 minutes. Long story short. AFTER 20 COMMERCIALS WHICH WERE ALL BOOed. and a shitload of trailers that were for all the BAD sony columbia tristar movies (sorry Jon) the movie finally started at 10:50. So, lets just give a total rundown on this theatre. One Big screen and a shitload of closet space screens. The BIG screening room's floor has not been cleaned since the early 80's. The management seems to always oversell tickets for the big screen shows. The sound systems is STERO. Not SDDS or DTS or anything that would have a trademark on it. That would cost them money. So all you get is stero. I really am getting tired of this rant. I know these stupid fucks don't care. They are makin money. So... all i can say is go somewhere else that has nice seats and clean floors and a good soundsystem.

ok, just sitting at home trying to fix a shitload of flash problems that i brought on myself. I got a project with about 6 levels and movie clips loading and unloading every few seconds. It makes for a real great time when the client wants to change the way the game is fundamentally operated. anyway, after a long night of fun i think i might have tracked down all the problems. finally i feel like im aproaching the end of something. i'm getting that thought a lot lately.

BTW, someone i know bitched me out for not puting a review of SPIDERMAN up. He was a little pissed that all i talked about was the theatre that i saw it in. Well, every time i see a movie i have to find something wrong with it. In this case.... the theatre was all i could bitch about. :) Stan Lee, Sam Raimi, Bruce Cambell (even if it was a small part)... who the fuck am i to say anything bad about their work?

So there is this CDrom Store i got to every once in awhile. I walk in there today with my think geek POWER shirt on. The first thing out of the guy's mouth there is, "You know you're wearing a 'Black Power' shirt?". then he laughs. Well, i guess he's a little pissed about the last time i smoked him in quake and left with free shit. :) but it was funny, i never thought about it that way before.

Ok, now that i've played Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds, all i can say is one thing. "SIMONSAYS" This is the coolest CHEAT ever in any game. Well at least since Furious the Monkey Boy. You type "simonsays" in a chat box in the game and it drops "SIMON the KILLER EWOK". Hey, i hate ewoks just as much as the next guy. I even cheer durring Jedi when the little fuck gets killed by the AT-ST. But Simon is not like Wicket or any of the little fucks on Endor. This little guy kicks the shit out of anything on screen. And the great thing is you can drop a load of them anywhere you want. heheh.

does anyone hate fax telemarketing as much as i do. These assholes figure, "well it's a fax, so it doesn't matter what time we send it". So i've got my phone ringing at 4:30 AM. And the thing that pisses me off more than anything is that I put my phone number as my FAX line ONCE. ONLY ONCE. and i know exactly where i did it. When i registered a couple of domains YEARS ago with network solutions. Well thanks Internic, Network Solutions, Verisign or whatvere the fuck you want us to call you. Now my phone number is out and about as a fax number and ringin all the time.

Ok, now Star Wars...

This is going to be really hard. I have only seen in once now, but there's something that i just can't put my finger on. I'll have to see it a couple more times, and I'll have to think about it, but there is just something missing. Don't get me wrong. Star Wars is exactly what i needed. At this point all of us know exactly what is going to happen. We see the two stories slowly merging and we know what the characters are going to have to undergo to get where they finally belong. We've all read the last page of the fuckin mystery novel. :) But like i was saying this is exactly what i needed. REAL ACTION. Lucas may have done a little more in this movie than he should have, but that's exactly what everybody needed. We needed a shock to our systems. There was just a little too much going on, there was just a little too much plot change, there was just to much really really dark evil plan. You can't figure out who's gettin played, UNTIL... jar jar binks gets a fate worse than death. The one think that i am sure of is that Lucas did the best thing he could with jar jar. He made him the patsy. He put him in a position where he made a mistake. but heres what i was think. In Ep. 1 every time jar jar makes a mistake it's funny, or it's alright cause when he tripped the blaster killed a droid. In this Jar Jar is actually drawn out and tricked into making a decision that is not good. AND here's the best part, Lucas has given us the chance to HATE jar jar because of a character flaw, not because he's a stupid character. So back to whati was saying. It seems like there is too much going on. To a hard core Star Wars fan it was a overload of new information. But thats the thing, eveything going on is actually set up for the big picture. That's what went wrong in episode 1. Too much was just fluf. The pop race was great but WHY? Read all the stuff wrong with episode 1 But everything in this movie motivates the story along. There's stuff that may slow things down, but don't worry. I just feel like Lucas's vision is clearing. he did exactly what he needed to do. I dont think i can wait another 3 years.

I just got a call from my old college roomate Mike. He was a film major back in school and worked himself (and the rest of us) almost to death. I can't count the number of nights that i remember him sleeping on the floor of an editing room. Anyway, Mike created a incredible student film while we were at school, and he told everyone that he would never put it on the web. Well... enough time has gone by and he's put it up. So... GO WATCH MIKE's FILM. Don't forget to give it a review. Good or Bad.

Ok, there is no comparison! i just got back from a digital projection of Star Wars at the Mann Chinese theatre in Hollywood, and there is no way i am ever going to be able to watch a movie any other way. First of all this theatre DOES NOT RUN COMMERCIALS!!! Thank the fuckin (insert your favorite diety here)! Just previews. And then i noticed... the matrix preview was followed by a NEW set of logo fly-ins that i HOPE will become as normal as the good ol THX. So... first the THX, same as always, then the digital sound system, AND then TECNICOLOR DIGITAL CINEMA!!! This is one of the first times i have ever heard a crowd CHEER for a logo!!! now for the geek talk. Blackpoint. Perfect. Whitepoint. had to be around 6000+ kelvin. Color. as vibrant as your favorite monitor that you can't afford. But that's not the point. There are something that digital projeciton DOES NOT have. First, NO DUST, NO SCRATCHES!! Every one of us has seen a old shitty print. You can tell. There's shit all over it. SECOND, the reel changes. At the end of each reel film is really bad. it gets all shitty and then BOOM, you hit the next real and it's a shock to your system. Also the audio track drops off and you can hear pops in it if it's old school optical. GOOD FUCKIN BYE!!! The picture is beautiful all the way through. The cigarette burns are gone and even a film snob like me is no longer distracted by the reel changes. Ok, GO SEE STAR WARS AGAIN! Fuck, see any movie again, just see it digital! I don't care if you hate Star Wars. That's your fuckin right, but you have to admit that Lucas is doing something here that is the best thing that's happened to movies since color.

Ok, now that comments are done, i need to move to better things. I think what people need now is a tool to use for their own celebrity prank phone calls. i was thinking of building a director application that would allow people to load entire directories of MP3 clips and then bind them to keystokes. So if you took a little time to gather together a collection of sound bytes of your favorite celebrity, you could then access them quickly and be able to play them back on demand without the use of a keyboard or other expensive piece of sound equipment. heheh.

i really hate cleaning the house. But like Pat says. Some days you just gotta clean til it hurts. Well I already hurt and I just started. :( Jen's got open house tonight and i get to hang out with the "teacher's husbands crew". It should be fun. We finally get to meet why all the kids are messed in the head. Some years its really too easy to match a parent with their child. I've been hearing all year long how these kids act in class, and then you just look at the parents walking in and you can see the reasons why. Oh shit, i was cleaning... well back to the fun.

Thank god! Star Wars finally hit hard with their ad campaign. I just saw the new commercial that basically says, "take a spin with this summers biggest action hero" then has the shot of YODA pulling our the light saber and kicking ASS!!! The greatest part about it is that they use the same typeface as spiderman to lead up to it.. LOL :)

OMFG! Robert Horry!! Ok, Lakers tied the biggest comeback in playoff history. They were playing like ass and at one point were down 24 points. Finally they started to work their way back. But goddam, the last second 3 point shot by Horry! that was worth having to watch them play bad the rest of the game. BTW thanks to Vlade (i really don't care how you spell that) for the great assist.

I am so sick i can't even believe myself. I'm workin on some stuff for Brian and Wendy, and I fell like shit. But i was thinking, I only work my ass off for the projects i like and even with 101 temp i am still trying hard to make something cool. :) I actaully feel a lot better now. Early today it was nothing but sitting on the bathroom floor riding the vomit comet.

Cleaning again. This time cleaning a hard drive that i need to put in my redhat box. I found a bunch of old games that i didn't think i had the source for anymore. So. Guess Roulette and the Xena game are now playable in the demo's area.
