So on Sunday my mom didn't want to do the crazy Sunday Bunch crap for mother's day. She came up with the idea of a hike, and it sounded good to everybody. So my mom and dad showed up sunday morning with food for lunch. They had ran by bristol farms and the catering department had done a crazy job with the lunch. We ended up leaving most of the food here at home, while we packed wine, cheese and crackers and a bunch of other stuff to munch on. We headed up to the top of Windsor Rd overlooking JPL. There's a parking lot there and the road goes up into the arroyo. We started there and headed up. About a mile in the paved road ends and its a dirt road for about another mile. There were brides across the arroyo at some point in time. But many of the bridges are either collapsed or the arroyo has changed course so much that the bridge is 50 feet from where the water is now. It just means there are a lot of rock hops to cross water. And then a lot more rock hops to cross water, and then more rock hops to cross water on the way back. We got up to Paul Little Campground and sat down to eat. Its a nice little spot off the trail about 100 feet, and we ended up seeing maybe 2 other people the entire time we sat there. After we ate, we headed up-stream about another 100 yards to the waterfall. Now, this is not Switzer Falls. I once thought it was, but now have found out that Switzer is another six miles up-stream. BUT that being said, i have no idea what the name of this waterfall is, or if it has any "official" name. So we headed back down to the car, and back home. It took us about 4 hours total, and we were all dead tired when we got back. BUT we still had food waiting for us. We hung out at the house here for awhile and then mom and dad went home. Jen and I crashed for a couple hours and then i got up to play some WOW. Jen headed over to her dad's house to hong out with them for while. We both missed the final episode of West Wing, and we crashed again hard that night. I woke up Monday morning feeling like i had been run over by a bus.

So if you've not already figured it out, I'm on the move to another place of work. I've been driving 30 miles each morning and another 30 each night. And its been two years. There are other reasons I'm leaving, but I guess I really need to talk about the reasons I stayed so long. It really comes down to the people. I've worked with a lot of good people over the years, but this group really is FUN to work with. Everybody knows their shit, and they show it. The work is good, and I'm interested in it. We get to do game promotional sites ALL THE TIME. I really hate to leave, but I've got an opportunity to work with another great group of people.

Its time to jump.

first off...

Congratulations Lindsay and Keith!

Jen and I headed up to Fresno for their wedding this weekend. We drove and got up there at about 2 and checked into the hotel. We took our time to get ready, and then picked up Darren and drove to the Church. The wedding went off without a hitch, and we headed to the reception across town. We hug out and had a great time.

Oh, and another thing...

WTF is the deal with this? Did i miss something? When did Starbucks become a drive-thru establishment?

And finally, the other F....
Food Poisoning

So around 1AM after the wedding i start getting sick. Jen doesn't get sick which is quite strange since we've been eating all the same stuff for the last 2 days. I don't get to sleep at all cause i'm having to get back up and go to the bathroom to deal with one end or the other about every 30 minutes. Jen and I take a little more time than we had planned. We originally had planned to be out of fresno by 5AM and down to San Clemente by noon. That didn't happen. Instead i rode shotgun as Jen took her time getting home. We promptly went to sleep at about noon. I didn't eat anything all day Sunday, but just drank gallon after gallon of water. I finally woke up at about 2AM monday morning after being asleep for over 12 hours. I played WOW for a couple hours cause I couldn't go back to bed. Today my clock was REALLY fucked up.

Jen and I got up at 4:30 on Saturday to drive to her dad's house. From there we jumped in the car with everybody to go down to San Diego to see Karrie graduate from University of San Diego's School of Law. We were expecting traffic, but didn't hit anything at all. As a result we got down to the campus about an hour early and got great seats. After the ceremony we headed to Pacific Beach to join in the BBQ that Karrie and Michael were putting on. It wasn't sunny, but the weather actually was really nice. We hung out there for a couple hours and then headed into Rancho Santa Fe to have dinner. Bob had made reservations at Mil Fleurs, and you just don't turn down a dinner like that. Again we were VERY early, so we sat at the patio at the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe and had a bottle of wine and enjoyed ourselves. After relaxing for about an hour, we walk over to the restaurant, and sit down for dinner. When questions are asked about the menu, our waiter simply says, "ok, no problem, i'll take care of it" Valerie was stuck between two different things on the menu, and the waiter simply says, "I'll take care of it." Needless to say, the dinner was amazing as always. We headed home now exhausted. Jen and I got to bed some time around midnight, and Jen slept in til about 1.

Sunday was LAZY. I couldn't sleep in too much for some reason, so while Jen was asleep in the morning, I played WOW. We didn't do much of anything all day long, but we finally got to cooking dinner and went out to see X3. All I can say is, STAY in your seat through the credits.

Monday was again a lot of lazy. We ended up going and walking around Descanso Gardens for about an hour. The place was packed with people, but it still was really nice. Dinner at Joselitto's and then a couple more hours of WOW. Finally leveled to 53, and Jen's had about enough of the game.

and then there was one.

So the last lunch at outlaws was great. I've got an exit interview in 1 hour, and I hope i can sober up for it. Otherwise i'll just end up making an ass of myself. Well, thinking about it, i'll probably make a complete ass of myself anyway. Gotta get a couple tings done, and then clean out my cube.

tomorrow a new deal, and I'm so excited.
