it was a long weekend. I started off the weekend by watching session 9 with Will and Rebecca at my house
friday night. Jen was in no way going to be talked into watching it. We had dinner at Carmine's just before, and
she was already tired from the work week. So she went to bed and everybody else sat up and watched the
movie. I finished off a bottle of wine that i had opened earlier that night. As a result when i did finally wake up
on Saturday i was sick as a dog. I really never felt any better all weekend after that. I had to work my ass off
all day on Saturday. I headed over to Epic to do a few little print pieces and then got a little lunch. I've got a
new shipping price method that i'm programming into the site, so that's gotta be done by monday. I've also
gotta get all their new merchandise into the new database. Late saturday afternoon i passed out. I don't know
what the hell happened for a few hours there. I turned off the ringer and crashed. I think a few people might
be a little pissed that i didn't show up to a little BBQ, but i've gotta say... if i did show up, i'd be the asshole at
the party that was not having any fun.
anyway, still working my ass off. but at least i don't care about enterprise for education anymore. i told them i
would no longer be "offering my services" to them. They wrote a little apology letter to me, and said that they'd
pay, but you know.... its not about the last paycheck anymore. It boils down to this. I don't like working for
them and i feel they don't pay me for the work i do. AND They seem to not be happy with the quality of my
work and they think they're paying me to much for the work i do. Its not rocket science. Its just been bad
news.

Today i worked my ass off. I got a whole lot done in the morning and i really think i have to thank bad religion. I ran through a playlist of all their old stuff and really started to remember just how much i like their old music. Damn, i take that back. I really remember how much i like ALL their music. So anway, i guess the point it am trying to make is while most people are singing about fuck knows what, bad religion is singing about entropy, antisocial behavior, society and religion as a synthetic control system. :) just my type of music. After the bad religion kick i found myself listening to a load of public enemy. I was in a really fucked up mood, but i have to say i did do some good work.

I feel like i have to say something, but i don't know what. I feel like i should review the Matrix, but i don't know
how. I feel i can't say it was a steamy pile of dogshit, but
Jason was right.... It was.
i'm not going to start listing off the reasons this movie sucked. I just dont have any idea what went wrong.
There were good parts, but they didn't make up for it. well as everybody has said already... bring on LOTR.

before the matrix they ran ads. go figure. for some reason now its ok to run even more fuckin advertising inside a movie theater. Now even worse is the fact that they ran an ad against movie and music piracy. Here's the rationale. A stuntman does a stunt for a movie. he risks his life. the movie gets made and then gets pirated. You should not do this because its disrespectful to the stuntman. Hows that for movie studio logic.
here's my response to your fuckin ad campaign.
I will always support good music, good literature and good movies. I WILL NOT SUPPORT SHIT. So that means if i pay $10 for a movie ticket i EXPECT YOU TO RESPECT ME. Don't show me 15 minutes of advertising for PEPSI. I could give a fuck less about the LA TIMES. I have already been bombarded by your shitty ad campaigns. IN SOME CASES I WORKED ON THEM! Let me watch your fuckin movie. If i like it, i will tell other people to go see it. If i like anything i will tell other people. Thats the way this works. Take the money from all your shitty ad campaigns and make a better product.

I always love watching Robert Horry play. But when you see him nail a 3 point shot to tie the game AGAINST the lakers... its a little bittersweet. Game is not over yet. back to it.

Just got back from another great weekend in Avalon. i headed out a little early on Friday with my brother and
father to get over there for the day. Jen and my mother followed later in the evening. So as always we did
nothing but eat drink and sit on our asses. Barb drove us out to the interior of the island and we hung out at
the airport for a bite to eat. Hit Armstrong's for dinner on saturday night. As always the dinner was great. We
had breakfast as always at the Casino Dock Cafe. And most of the rest of the time was spent just screwing
around looking at houses and other things in avalon itself. Everything was a little more crowded
than you'd expect because there was a triathlon with about 900 contestants on saturday morning. Friday night
for Prego was a nightmare. Its the only Italian place in town and everybody was trying to load up on carbs for
the race.

After i let Enterprise for Eduction go, they started to do things i really didn't expect. I got a HUGE arrangement
of flowers from Jacob Mars. Jen and I usually send flowers from there, so we both know exactly how expensive
this place is. The arrangement that showed up was a good 3 times larger than ANYTHING i have every seen
sent from Jacob Mars. I don't even want to think about how much this thing cost, but i'm sure its over $300.
Then after that i get a gift basket from See's candy along with a gift certificate from the Raymond Restaurant. I
really don't understand these guys. I've been working with them for close to 6 years and they still don't
understand me. They think all this groveling is going to make a difference. I wrote them a letter explaining my
position and what i plan to do with my career now that they decided to stop paying me. I've already sent my
resume out to a huge number of places and i'm really looking for somewhere to settle down.

I've told webair to remove blogrolling.com from their dns system, so hopefully this thing will ping correctly now.
THIS IS A TEST.

usually when i go over to epic i get a lot of work done. Well i didn't count on veteran's day. I went over to do
the final bit of data entry on products and i didn't get anything done. My brother was there along with Vera, and
Barb, so we just sat there and talked most of the time. I needed to do work on the computer, but George is
doing all the financial reports for the end of their financial year, so he's logged in via PC anywhere, both systems
are tied up. Then Barb asks me about a new computer. Before you know it, we're ordering a new Toshiba
portable online. So to make a long story short, i had a lot of fun hanging out, but didn't get shit done. Allie
(sorry, i know i just spelled his name wrong) is coming over tomorrow to do some stupid little promo design and
then we should be able to finish off the data entry. At least here we'll have a set of good computers, a good
connection, and no interruptions.

its feels like i've been working on Epic Sports's Web site for years now... Oh shit. I HAVE BEEN. Well to all
those people that say i never finish anything... I finished it. Yup that's right kiddies, the site FINALLY went
live.
Visit Epic Sports
Now all i have to do is show them how to use all the administrative back end tools that i built for product
management and inventory control. Fun fun fun.

I was listening to Bad Religion again. I've been doing a lot of work with them playing lately. So as i was in the
middle of a piece of php and building a PDF, the song "quality or quantity" just hit me in a slightly different way.
It lead me to think a little about our current Governor. I need to find out exactly how heavy Gray Davis and
Arnold are. I need to make a little spoof Wheaties box or something. California Governor! NOW WITH 120%
More MASS! I guess this is a good enough excuse to bring back blogvote.

So i have known for a long time that my blog code SUCKS. So today i finally got around to fixing many of the major issues. The blog no longer has to pull data from the database EVERY time it loads, so it should be a lot easier on the db.
in other news
I just got back from a long night of hanging out with friends. I went to an art opening on hollywood blvd tonight. I parked about a block from Will's house and gave him a call. I told him that we would be at hollywood billards in an hour or so. We went to the art exhibit and then to hollywood billards. Jason Brian and Wendy were the ones to drag my ass out of the house. Will didn't get my message, cause he was already at hollywood billards. It was quite funny walking up to him and saying hi. Anyway after a couple rounds of pool and a plate of ultimate nachos we headed to the American Legion Hall to finish off the night. So now its about 3 and i really need to sleep. gnight

Jen's plane flight over the rockies was a little bumpy. I guess people don't understand that they should hold
onto their drinks on a flight during turbulence. Jen ended up with two drinks in her lap. So Jen's mother
doesn't want to fly back. She wants to take the train. Everything in colorado is good from what i hear. They're
making the rounds with Jen's grandmother, going out to all the great places to eat in Ft. Collins. Currently
there seems to be a little blizzard on top of them, but it all should clear up soon for their flight tomorrow. Just
enough time for me to hang out with everybody one more night. And let me tell you i am paying for all the
damage i did to my body last night.
Tuesday November 25th 2003 11:42 AM PST
With no publicity at all we're getting orders on epicsports. The search engines aren't even throwing back much
traffic. So i guess its something to be happy about. as soon as we start to really promote the site then we
should be in business. Right now its good though, cause we're still knocking out some changes and bugs.
Everything still looks good on the site, and now i've got george interested in maintaining the product inventory.
Thats good for me cause he's checked all the product entries and now i don't have to worry that i entered
something wrong. Well back to work.
Saturday November 29th 2003 01:36 AM PST
the last few days have been busy. I worked over at epic on wed for about 5 hours. During that time it seems
that everything fell apart. It was fun being there and being able to help out. The best part of the day was when
Mike told George that one of the checkstand computers would not turn on. George just sat there not being able
to imagine the possibility of going into the busiest shopping day of the year with another one of his checkstands
gone. He looks at me and begs me to take a look at it. I didn't even have to look, i could smell the problem.
The power supply had burnt and George just happened to have an extra lying around. So on top of everything
else i did in the store that day, i got to perform surgery on a very poorly designed windows box. I get about 10
screws out and the power supply is free, or at least i think so. I then realize that the cable connected to the
motherboard is buried under every other piece of hardware inside the computer, so i ALL has to come out.
About another 30 screws later i've got the entire computer in pieces and the new power supply in. The
computer boots up and there are high fives to go around. Just another day at the office.
Thanksgiving with the family is always fun. My mother usually goes into HOLY SHIT mode right around the time
everybody starts to show up. This is due to the fact that up to that point she could actually get things done
without anybody else's ass in the kitchen. No she has to play bumper cars with all of us. We joked around and
helped her out and everything went off without a hitch. Jen's family and my uncle Joe were also all there. Vera
showed up with Justin, Jenna, Johnathan and Bacca. (i probably just spelled that wrong, sorry) It was
amazingly in control for a riegler holiday. Usually we have at least one drunken incident or contact sport related
injury. We stuffed ourselves silly as per tradition and drank so much coffee afterwards that we were all a little
crazy. We all hung out til really late and Jen and I finally got home about midnight.
Today was spent working on various little projects and just relaxing. Karrie and Jen spent the day together
doing all kinds of shit. I do believe shopping on a day like today could be considered an extreme sport. They
both said there were not HUGE crowds so it wasn't that bad. Karrie saved my ass and i have to thank her. Jen
and her both went to see Love Actually, so that gets me off the hook from having to watch it.
My mom brought leftovers from last night over today. I could tell she needed something to do cause she called
me up 5 minutes after she had just been at my door and said that she had forgot to include a few things and
was coming back over. Jen and i thank her cause that was dinner tonight for us. We sat around watching the
West Wing with the phone ringer off and the answering machine turned down.
