most people close to me know I've not been getting a lot of sleep recently cause i've been working my ass off. Well the work is almost done and the games have launched. TDI's shell website is up, and the games can be played...

The Rogue Games

Marble Maze is all Papervision fun in AS3. It was a HUGE undertaking for me cause I knew nothing about papervision or AS3 when i started the project. I always like jumping in headfirst on projects like this. But we pulled it off. Please enjoy.

Saturday Jen and I headed down to San Juan Capistrano for Aiden's 1st Birthday. Kim and Russ set up things at the Petting Zoo right next to the train station. For awhile I was tempted to actually take the train down there, but we ended up driving. No traffic, and great directions to free parking. :) and a quick walk across the railroad tracks.

We hung out in the shade for a couple hours drinking Russ's sangria and munching on food. Then we headed next door to the petting zoo and the pumpkin patch. Great relaxing time. It was great to see everybody, and a real shock to see so many kids.

Two weekends ago, Jen and I tried to go to breakfast at Dish. Problem is... they're directly next to a Church, and if you get there at 9AM on Sunday, there's no chance you're gonna sit down for an hour. So we made the mistake of trying anyway, and did a drive by to see a horde of people on the street. No way. So we turned around and headed to the Black cow. We figured it would be just as bad, but we were hungry.

To our surprise we didn't wait at all and were seated next to a few other empty tables. Hmmm, but 15 minutes later there was a horde of people outside as well.

So this weekend, we figured, we'd just start at the Black Cow and everything would be good. Well our luck ran out. They told us 30 minutes to wait, so we sat outside under the trees next to the Honolulu traffic (or lack there of), and 30 minutes came and went. I didn't think we were going to get seated any time soon, and the number of people on the sidewalk was growing. All waiting for seats. Star Cafe opened, and a large number of people migrated over to their tables. And then I finally said... "Jen, Zeek's is open for breakfast". Well Zeek's is 10 feet away from where we are sitting waiting, and Jen finally gets up to investigate. She walks in, and then quickly walks back out and motions me to follow. She disappears inside, and when i get in, she's already sitting at a table.

So for those of you who don't know Zeek's. Its a incredible Smoke BBQ place. The smell alone will stick with you for at least a day. Incredible food, and a "must" for Dinner. But breakfast I didn't know about. Well that's until I looked at their breakfast menu. I think this actually might be our weekly regular spot. I had Huevos Rancheros that ended up realy being a Quesidiall with Eggs and COVERED in Salsa. That's an easy way to make me happy. mmmmmmm. Then the smoked bacon. Damn.

They opened the smoker a couple times while were there and the smell permeates the room in about 3 seconds. I smelled like smoke all day long :).

For the month of October DO NOT PURCHASE ANY MUSIC AT ALL. Well at least not music from music industry sources. free jammie

Wed - Radiohead's new album will be released. In Rainbows I'll place bets that this album will set records just because of the way its being sold.

"08 October 2007: Big News
Hello everyone. I've waited a LONG time to be able to make the
following announcement: as of right now Nine Inch Nails is a totally
free agent, free of any recording contract with any label. I have
been under recording contracts for 18 years and have watched the
business radically mutate from one thing to something inherently very
different and it gives me great pleasure to be able to finally have a
direct relationship with the audience as I see fit and appropriate.
Look for some announcements in the near future regarding 2008.
Exciting times, indeed."

So we all knew that Kapalua was undergoing a HUGE change with the demolition of the Hotel. Its just depressing seeing it via satellite view.

the only thing that comes as a bit of a shock to me is that it looks like the shopping center is still standing. At least the one sushi place I like on Maui might still be there when I go back.

It doesn't come as much of a surprise that Al Gore won the Nobel Peace Prize (well half of it) today. And its even less of a surprise that Fox has started their usual smear campaign. Heh, go figure. Well congratulations Al. When the hell are you going to decide to run?

It was really funny. I walked in today, and started going through my email folders and cleaning things out. I was moving HUGE numbers of mails to archive folders, and completely by mistake I took my ENTIRE inbox and moved it to the trash. I'm a little too quick on the Command-K and hit return on the dialog box I know warns me that I'm about to nuke everything. Heh, i laughed. There was that 'pause'... It looked like i just nuked everything in my inbox. Heh, I just did.

Not a big deal at all, cause I've got the entire archive redundantly backed up on my system at home, but its funny working today. I keep going back to mail trying to search for an attachment I got last week. Heh, i'm having to ask people to send me shit again. Makes me feel like a N00B. Heh.

I get on the freeway today behind a guy going about 45 to 50 mph. I leave him space and follow him up the onramp. I guess this wasn't fast enough for the guy behind me, cause he just gets on my bumper. Always fun. I accelerate as the guy in front of me does and finally get up to about 85 or 90. The guy behind me is no longer behind me cause, well... he's shot across all 5 lanes of traffic now sitting in the fast lane. going about 75 it looks. I chuckle. Normal asshole move, and I expect to see it a couple times during my commute.

So that brings me to the "NORMAL" things i see on my commute.

> People driving the speed limit in the fast lane.

> People on their cell phones driving 20 MPH slower than everybody else on the road

> People failing to use their blinker for ANYTHING

> People talking to passengers with their hands

> People reading the paper

> People doing their makeup

> People shaving

> People combing or brushing their hair

> People dialing their phone, staring at the screen, while their hands free ear piece is in their ear

> People eating their breakfast burrito (or any fast food item for that matter)

> People drinking from their over sized ceramic coffee cup, trying not to spill.

> People tipping their head back to get that last bit of coffee out of the bottom of their sippy cup.

These are seen EVERY DAY. No if's and's or buts'... there will be a sighting of EVERY SINGLE ONE of these things every time i jump in the car. But today i saw one that I usually don't see. Same guy who was tail-gating me on the onramp finally catches up when traffic slows down a bit at the bottom of the hill. I am cruising along in the lane just to the right of the fast lane, and the guy creeps up. He's staring at his cellphone while it looks like he's texting. He slows down and drifts behind me. About 30 seconds later he drifts up again with the traffic, and now he's bent over leaning over the passenger side getting something off the floor. He drifts back behind me. The another 30 seconds later he drifts back up.

now let me be clear. Traffic is FUCKING MOVING. we're all cruising along about 70 to 80.

this time he drifts up. his left elbow is holding the wheel. his left hand is holding a nice little glass pipe, and his right. Well you know... he's sparking a bowl. And he's really fuckin hitting it. At this point i am laughing my ass off. The guy to the right of me sees it, and he's just about on the floor laughing too.

I was a little too slow, but i got the exhale.

and if any law enforcement wants his plate number... i got that too.

So I can't be the only one that noticed. But with all the Rogue work I've been doing, I can't stop looking at the product placement in Heros. Simply Claire got the Rogue in episode 1, and then it got stolen. Then cut south of the border to the two new Heros trying to come north. They hook up with a guy in JAIL, and he says simply "I have a car". Hmmm I wonder why hes in jail? Maybe a stolen car? Maybe Claire's stolen Rogue? Oh, that would be too weird. Oh, but then what if Sylar suddenly bumps into the group, and HE's now driving the same Rogue? That would be too fuckin weird. hehehehehehhehe.

Don't be surprised if somewhere in the next few episodes they feature the navigation system of the Rogue. I'll put bets that the Bennet house is set as HOME in the nav system. Could be a nice reveal on Sylar tracking them down.

I always have seen those people that dress their kids in the same outfits as themselves. Well i didn't think it would happen this soon.

I've been thinking about taking down the blog. Just devote this to code and flash. Hmmmm still thinking.
