I have not been able to find the answer to this one, and i'm just going to put it out here. I've installed php5 with GD thanks to the guys at entropy. It works like a dream in the http realm. BUT i'd really like to have this same version of php running in bash. I've looked at every configuration file and my bash profile is still pointed to the default install of php4 that came with OS X (10.4). Does anybody out there know a way to configure bash so that it points to the new php5 fun?

The ipod nano just was announced. I'm already having trouble keeping myself from clicking the "submit order" button. But i need one more thing before i buy it. I need the fully integrated piece of hardware. So here's the deal:

If you build the following... I'll buy it.

Build me a car stereo and ipod both with blue tooth support. Even better give the car Stereo WiFi as well, and a hard drive. A BIG FUCKING HARD DRIVE. Now let me login to my car stereo from my home wifi network. I should be able to build playlists on my stereo and transfer music. I should also be able to move music to my ipod and then just jump in my car and listen to music off my ipod via the bluetooth. Also, the same ipod should be able to connect to your next generation of AirPort Express units (that would have bluetooth). That way i can sit on my couch with my ipod in my hand, and connect to my home stereo and play the music. BIG NOTE: this completely takes care of the fact that i can't fucking control the music i'm playing on my airport express speakers unless i want to walk across the house and into my office to play with iTunes.

So these are not NEW IDEAS. I'm sure that people everywhere have already thought up these ideas. I'm just saying. Get moving already and build it.

one thing about shooting blind with no flash. most of your pictures turn out like shit. But my philosophy is... just keep fucking shooting, cause the rule of large numbers dictates that a couple will come out. So here are the few that came out.

There was a kid there with his parents. It was his first show EVER. His dad got one of the posters that Eric designed and got the band to sign it. made the kid's night. :)

So i ordered my copy of flash 8 a while back, and i just downloaded it. I started to play with the little things that are new, but honestly there are 2 things that already have made me very happy.

1> the fucking library stays where you put it.

2> the stage "pasteboard" increases in size if you've got a HUGE object on the stage that spills off.

more to come soon as i've got something to show.

I've been packing slowly. Waiting for moving day. I actually packed up all my DVDs and software manuals. And then after all that i ordered delicious library, and had only a few random things to scan. So now out apartment is a mess and I'm thinking about nothing but having more space and a real roof to live under. Last night Jen and I were both awake at about 1AM listening to one neighbor take a shower about 5 feet from our heads and another neighbor pace around his apartment above our heads.

thinking about a real kitchen is fuckin killing me. actually thinking about having all the space is killing me. But one thing finally struck me the other day. The house has digital cable dropped in already, and internet access on it. No problem there. But i've been banished to the Garage (actually no complaint there), but i realized that none of these services have been installed in the garage... cause why the fuck would you really want to install digital cable into the garage. :)

So now i gotta get cable pulled to the garage, or figure out a WiFi network from house to garage. But i still want cable TV in my office when it comes down to it. waiting.

i am packing, so that means i'm looking at crap i should not look at. I take too much time being interested in what i'm packing, instead of just fuckin packing. SO i went through a couple CD's of OLD shit from 2000 and before. I stumbled across an archive of my old home page. Long long long before the blog. It was just pictures and links and stupid crap. But the funniest thing was the old disclaimer i had on the bottom of the page...

These pages look the best if you are using a MAC OS computer with Netscape with the Shockwave Plug-in while drinking RedBull.

heheheheh, i was a dipshit. Oh, sorry, still am.

and initial here, and here and here, and don't forget the other copy, and sign here and.... i knew escrow documents were crazy long, but GAWD DAMN. Signed everything today early in the morning during a thunder storm. It helped cause there's nothing better than lightning strikes a block away while you're trying to read through legal documentation. And the power going on and off didn't help much either. Well at least another thing is now taken care of.

i never liked the eagles. I never really liked them at all. I guess i grew up in a time when Don Henley had left the Eagles and gone out on his own. I remember when "the boys of summer" won the best video of the year on MTV. That in and of itself is fucking hilarious BTW. But i found myself liking all the Don Henley solo songs far beyond all the Eagles crapola. So the concert was good, but it just was not my kind of music.

Jen and i took the train to meet her Father and Valerie. we got there well before they went on, but jen was still pissed cause i didn't want to drive, and the train took far longer than she had expected. well back to work....
