I think the Oscars were in bad taste tonight. i know the motto is 'the show must go on' but it doesn't need all the stupid fuckin jokes. Its really sad that they tried to dance around the issue by just keeping all the little light jokes. The winners were predictable and the academy was political as always by spreading the winners around. I am really happy that the red carpet got removed. It destroyed the "tabloid appeal" of the show and everything else was just empty. As a result i have a feeling that less people watched. Hopefully more people this year will seek out good film and worry less about the fuckin awards.

I would also like to hear from anybody who has seen Divine Intervention. This was a film blocked by the Academy because they say it is produced in a country that is not "recognized". Anyway, after all the controversy over this film, i really want to see it so i can make my own judgment of how good it is. Anybody out there seen it?
