I don't know about the rest of you, but I hate Disney. I don't know when it started, but over the years I have gone from a person who did not mind the things Disney does, to a person NOW who is appalled by most of the things they do. So to top it all off this gets sent to me today by Jon. Self Destructing DVD. Like i said, i don't know about the rest of you, but i think the last fuckin thing this world needs right now is another completely disposable product. Disney is doing nothing more than contributing to a larger amount of trash. People are going to buy and rent DVD's with or without this product. But with this product it all ends up in the garbage.

I think that format is doomed to fail. A lot of the time, Lisa and I rent a movie at Blockbuster, then don't get around to watching it until day 4 or so. We're often late getting the disc back even on the week long rentals. This is bound to piss people off. And I agree about the land fill issue.

When did you used to like Disney? Man, movie studios, the MPAA, Jack Valenti, Michael Eisner and all those idiots can kiss my ass, and Disney is probably the worst of them. They're the ones who got Congress to extend copyright laws so they wouldn't lose their copyright on Mickey Mouse. Never mind that Disney basically built their empire by using stories and characters created by other people that they never had to give any money to for the rights to use them (thanks to shorter copyright laws, naturally). Major corporations like this don't care about anything but their bottom line. Hopefully this new expiring DVD thing will help bolster piracy and make people more interested in copying the data off DVDs before they deteriorate. Anything to help speed the movie studios on to a bitter end is a good thing as far as I'm concerned.
