So i went out last night to drop something off at my parents house and when i got back i had a little friend
waiting for me. i start to walk up the sidewalk next to my apartment, and about 5 feet in front of me there is a
racoon. He just sits there looking at me trying to figure out what i am going to do and i stop just to look at him.
So we both stand there for about 5 minutes not moving. He's got no real way out if he turns and runs from me
and i finally have no choice than to back off and then try to get him to walk toward me. So that takes a few
more minutes, but the entire time he's very calm but keeps an eye on me. So finally he makes it down the
walkway onto the front lawn and disappears. I walk back into the house and then it all makes sense. I've had
to be filling the fountain every couple days cause for some reason it just gets really low overnight. Its not a
leak, but overnight it will just get emptied. However unlikely, it might just be this racoon taking a drink. So
now i gotta set up a camera on the fountain and see if i'm right.

When I was in college with the snake cage with the waterfall in it, I was pretty amazed at how fast the water in there evaporated. However, that was in a cage under a heat lamp (only making it like 80-90 degrees though) and it was in dry as hell Colorado, so I'm sure its totally different. But I had to dump a 44 oz cup of water in there ever couple days. Just always thought that rate of evaporation was much higher than I would have expected.
