accident smog check registration

So my accident on Aug 8th is almost behind me. My car was in the shop for a month, and i finally got it back this week. BUT my registration was good in August when i had the car. All i had to do was take it in and get a smog check. But that opportunity passed as soon as i got in the accident. Now its september and my registration has expired. So as soon as i got my car back i still didn't want to drive it across LA and risk the ticket. I finally got the chance today to get the smog check and now all i have to do is go in and get the sticker. (yup this entry is really really exciting)
