good weekend

Friday Jen and I took the day off to get away from everything. Jen's mother passed away one year ago, and we wanted to not deal with anything at all that day. So we drove to the beach and sat for a few hours. We ended up heading out the 133 into Laguna, and then north a bit to Crescent Bay. We hit the Shake Shack for lunch and then headed back south to Crescent Beach Cove. The beach is rarely ever crowded and for a Friday there were really not many people there. We sat for a few hours just relaxing. I attempted to go in the water, but i honestly think it felt like 40 degrees. So we drove through Laguna on the way home and then proceeded to hit Friday traffic on all the freeways. We got home and went out to dinner at el Chloe and sat around and watched movies the rest of the evening.

For the rest of the weekend, worked my ass off on a little project that i'm doing with Eric. Fun to be doing something other than flash. :)

Then in all the spare time i had over the weekend, i worked on an improved GPS map script. The earlier versions i had made did nothing but plot location data. They ignored the timestamps for each of the plots. This weekend i finally took into consideration time, and more importantly speed. The new system plots the data and colorizes it based on current speed. Suddenly data that was never visible is now completely obvious. With the simple speed color, i can now suddenly see how many traffic lights i had to stop at while driving down a street.
