So we screwed up the weekend completely

We had huge plans to go to the Huntington for tea with Anne and Darren. Everything was going to plan Saturday morning. We hit everything on the schedule and had everything packed, all we needed to do was feed Paige, jump in the car and meet Anne and Darren at the huntington. Well Paige started to scream every time Jen started to feed her, and she would have nothing to do with her. And these aren't normal screams like "i'm hungry" or anything. Bloody Murder screams. So we work on it for about 30 minutes and we can't get her to feed. So suddenly we're screwed... cause there's no way were going to take her to tea if she's not going to eat, and if she's screaming this bad. Panic sets in. Anne and Darren have already driven 2 hours to get up here, and (phone call is made) they're already waiting at the Huntington.

So we figure it out. Its the suntan lotion that Jen's put all over her arms. Paige just plain hates it, and won't go near it. So we pull the plug. We're already late and won't make our reservation, so we've blown it. We ask Anne and Darren to drive up to our house and we'll figure it out from there. We both feel like complete assholes.

Jen jumps in the shower and I heat up a bottle. We actually get Paige to eat from the bottle and she passes out cause she's been screaming now the better part of an hour.

So now we really feel stupid, cause we're telling Anne and Darren that she's screaming and won't take anything, and when they walk through the door, she's sound asleep.

Insert embarrassed look here.

So we hang out at the house for a little while then decide to at least run out to get some lunch. The black cow is decided on, and we head out. Great part is (well, the embarrassing part for us is) that Paige doesn't complain the rest of the day at all.

So now we owe Anne and Darren a trip to the Huntington and probably a few dozen drives down south to make up for this. Sorry.

Sunday started off good with a trip out to breakfast at Dish. Paige is perfect, but we're seated next to a table with a toddler. Not speaking a whole lot, but very mobile. Every time this kid is let loose, he knows EXACTLY where he's not allowed to go. They set him down, and every time he makes a mad DASH for the kitchen. I'm not kidding, but i think one time he actually faked his dad out and made the move one way, waited for him to look away and then made the run.

Something to look forward to.
