ok, over at Woot they've got a good point.

"Pardon us for cyber-peeing all over the e-party, but “Cyber Monday” strikes us as an especially lame name for ecommerce’s big day."

You know, adding 'cyber' to the front of words to make them more 'internetty' just pisses me off. I mean, I remember playing 'cyberpunk' back in the late 80's, early 90's, and that was cool then. Not so cool now. I wonder if that's where the whole 'cyber' trend came from, or if it's something entirely different. It's the same with adding 'e' or 'i' to the front of stuff, but those aren't nearly as annoying. Interesting side note: Cybernetics derives from the greek word Kybernetes (sp may be wrong) which means helmsman, I believe. So adding 'cyber' to words doesnt even really make sense, in my mind... That's my thought for the day. Off to stats...whee.
