that nagging bug

So for over a year now I've had a bug in the blog engine that would just kill the archive system. If you went to a month that had no blog entries (the current month for example), then it would not write a new archive page, and just redirect you to the archive page. Well, that obviously won't work. So long story short... I fixed it finally. And the sad part is... i've been putting it off for so long, and it was only a change to one line of code.
